Are you preparing to send your garments to be altered properly? Start by marking or pinning where you want the garment to be hemmed or taken in. Please make sure to be very specific with the marking. The best pin to use is a safety pin, and you should make the mark with tailor chalk. We offer basic and complex alterations for men's and women's clothing, including hemming, sleeve or pant shortening and basic bridal gown alterations.
For pants, pin 4 sides of each leg, inseam, outseam, front and back. If you like the waist to be taken in, hold the excess fabric of the waistband and add a pin. If you want to include the seat, pin the excess seat fabric with safety pins.
For a dress with excess fabric, you would need it to be hemmed. For a dress with multiple layers, pin all layers separately. For sides to be taken in on a dress, pin both sides of the dress with safety pins. Keep a love space of 2 inches between pins. For a dress shirt, fold the sleeve’s cuffs to the desired length if you would like to have sides taken in or darts on the back of a shirt. For better results, have another person pin sides and darts.
When you finish marking the garment, fill out all forms and pay all alteration fees and shipping fees. If you like the garment to be done sooner than the promised date, a rush fee will be charged. When you complete the preparation, pack the garment and ship it out.
When we receive the package, we alter the garment according to the customer’s markings and pinning. We follow all the instructions sent by the customer, if there are any. We alter the garment and ship it back to the customer.
